When I was little I was introduced to a lot of crafts and different ideas, but nobody in my family really crocheted. My mom loved to knit and my grandma was a seamstress and a weaver. I cannot recall the day or who introduced me to crocheting but I found it to suit my personality the best. I used to come back from school and crochet doilies almost constantly. Watching TV was not watching TV without a hook and thread in my hands making my next doily. After college I found no time to crochet until recently my mind was so tired after work that I needed to let the steam out and relax. Since I did not have any doily pattern with me I started surfing internet for some ideas until I stumbled on Amigurumi. It seems they captured me in their cuteness and I've been making them ever since. The crocheting relaxes me and the finished AmiBuddy makes me smile. It's just perfect! ^^

Amigurumi is Japanese art of crocheting or knitting stuffed toys. That is what the actual word Amigurumi stands for in Japanese (I cannot verify it since I do not know Japanese).^^ Amigurumi toy is crocheted in rounds like a spiral without joining the rows. It is done with smaller hook in order to achieve very tight crochet so that it can be stuffed later. Amigurumi can be made into any cute or mystic creature from alien to a teddy bear. It all depends on the imagination of it's creator.
